Im getting ready to leave for the hospital now. Prayers sent up and blessings coming down! :)

I hope all goes well with your surgery. I just got to the hospital. There are no rooms available, so I guess I will be sitting in the waiting room for a few hours dying of thirst. Why would they have me come in at 8am if they don't even plan on seeing me until after noon? I'm not in a very good mood right now.

This happened to me too. Stay strong! Had me come in at 7am and I didn't go to the OR until like 11:30. Good luck.

Yeah- I gained about 6 pounds and lost that pretty quickly after surgery. I am counting from my surgery morning "pre-op" weight.

I feel like I am losing slow. Maybe I just had big expectations. I think I have lost only 6 pounds since my surgery a week ago. I still feel good about everything, but wish the scale would move more. I think I will try more Water today. Also, we have been having lots of rain,so I haven't been able to walk as much as I should.

I wouldn't worry about it! 6 pounds in a week is VERY good! Keep in mind that your body is going in to shock and may be trying to hold on to fat for a few more days before you start burning it because it thinks you are starving. Everyone's system is very different in how long things take.

Thanks for the encouragement! I do know that it is a good number for a week, but I guess I started thinking that it was going to be so much more post op, I am doing everything they told me, so it will come off eventually.

Exactly! Try to think about it this way-- if you happened to lose 6 pound even every Other week, by this week next year you will have lost 156lbs! That's insane!! We are doing this for our futures, the little losses in the present are just bonuses! :)

*someone remember this for when I hit my first plateau and get down. Lol*

I just had my one week follow up. I've lost 14lbs in a week!! I'm so excited!! The pa said I'm doing great and I'm cleared for everything (driving, exercising, etc). It took me two months to lose 20lbs before surgery. I'm blown away!! ????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
