He even stayed home from work, which he NEVER does. :( just pray pray pray!!! Please! Id appreciate it very much! Just cleaned up my kitchen, now I'm going to get a cup of hot tea.

On a more positive note, I wanted to share a picture I saw on Facebook. I may print this out and put one on my fridge and one on my desk at work.

Where did you get your sample packs from?

I got my packs from Bariatric Advantage online. They have the B12, calcium citrate, and the Multivitamin daily packs

I called some of the companiesvand requested samples. I paid 3 dollars for Celebrate Vitamin sampler. Unjury sent me 3 packs for free bc I didn't want to pay 21 for the big pack. Bariatric Choice sents out samples quickly and Bariatric Advantage also!

Thanks, that's good information.

Prayers are needed right now!!! I just called insurance and one if the people didn't submit my whole packet to the review board so the now have the whole packet thanks to the lady I called. She has also emailed to ask for a rush since my tentative date is June 12. I'm hoping I have an approval this week so I can keep my date. Prayers are needed please!!!!!!!

Paying for you, you will be approved, that happened to me and they called me the next day and said I was approved. BCBS of Illinois.

Now after telling someone to be positive, I am going to do a little freaking out myself. Oh my goodness my worst fear has come to life. I woke up feeling sick. Sore throat and achy ears. I'm praying this passes over. I have 6 days till surgery. :([/quote']

Hope you feel better very soon.

Another teacher here....my surgery is schduled for June 18th. Just had all the pre-op medical tests done yesterday. That

was a tough day, not because of horrible tests or bad results, just because I felt stressed. Getting excited and nervous.

I take indocin now for flair ups. I know I wont be able to do that anymore. What are you able to take? The pain from gout is worse than anything I've experienced. Surgery pain doesn't even compare. The only thing comparable is an accessed tooth in my opinion. I am scared of that more than anything.

Yes, I've read somewhere that if you suffer from certain types of arthritis, due to obesity, most likely it will go away, gout is a form of arthritis, along with high levels of uric acid.

Are you having RNY or sleeve? They Told me I was denied for sleeve because they don't cover it however I'm covered 90% for Rny!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
