futuremrsparker 288 Posted May 30, 2013 Kdgaines, I am praying for you! Insurance turn around times are a lot faster than they used to be. Just be positive!! Now after telling someone to be positive, I am going to do a little freaking out myself. Oh my goodness my worst fear has come to life. I woke up feeling sick. Sore throat and achy ears. I'm praying this passes over. I have 6 days till surgery.

kdgaines 41 Posted May 30, 2013 Looks like my new day will be June 20 if all goes well when she starts scheduling!! Also do any of y'all have a blog or would you follow blogs? I've had a few people suggest it to me and I think it's a great idea just wondering if anyone would follow 1 mzshay35 reacted to this
FLUFFYMOM 19 Posted May 30, 2013 I would follow a blog about your journey. Have already read through several blogs when I was making the decision to have the surgery. They were really helpful in knowing what to expect. Just curious...I see a lot of people on here going from band to bypass. Just wondering was the band not what you guys hoped it would be or was it part of the plan to get to the bypass. I know I've heard people say they had to lose weight to be able to have the bypass done and some people started with the band due to risk factors, but then someone referred to it as the "crap band." Like I said, I'm just curious. I'm having the RNY, I never even considered the lap-band because of the amount of weight I needed to lose.

Cami1908 30 Posted May 30, 2013 Good info from a other thread I'd like to pass along: Good morning everyone!I have gleamed several tips' date=' ideas and overall supportive moments from the support groups I've been attending through St. Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence where I'll be having my RNY on July 3. Here's one that I thought may be useful to share with you guys as well. So, Im not sure I have the story completely right, but, here's what I think I know. There's a chef named Chef Woody who has a wife whom underwent RNY surgery. Chef Woody became frustrated with making two different meals every time they sat down to eat so he has created healthy, tasty, bariatric friendly meal that everyone in the family can enjoy! He has a website, www.chefwoody.com where you can get ideas and recipes for all sorts of things that fit your place in the journey. I hope this is helpful!
