Good luck to you, I am 5 days Post Op, All went well after 4 hours of Surgery, I had a Hiatal Hernia, and Lots of Scar Tissue from previous surgery, my worst day was day 1, that night the cramping was really bad, all I can say to you is Walk, Walk, Walk, that helps. I also had to quit the pain Meds as they were making me too tired to walk, day two was the last day of pain Meds. Walking is great now as long as I don't over do it.

I do hope all goes great for you, and your recovery is smooth and quick. God Bless.

I am on full liquids starting today and I have had runny Cream Of Wheat, and about 6 oz of Protein shake over the last 2 hours, all stayed down fine but I have diarrhea since day 3 after surgery. I'm gonna try Split Pea Soup for dinner. Right now I'm way too full from the shake.< /p>

I had a lapband to bypass conversion. I'm in my third post op day and second day on juice party liquids. I've been walking and Tylenol liquid takes care of the pain. The worst is the diarrhea. Everything runs thru me. Had a couple of messy accidents. I heard that when its time for shakes, that Constipation starts. Is that true?

Apparently it varies cuz I was constipated from the moment of surgery! And now 3 months after my revision I still am :P thank God for drugs!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
