Still Waiting someone HELP

Recommended Posts

Someone Help me, I'm 3 weeks post op. and hit a stand still at 12 days post op still there!! My diet as of now mainly consists of split pea Soups, healthy broccoli and cheddar Soup, eggs with cheese, Protein Shakes and diabetic yogurt and of course Water. Someone please reassure me that I'm doing everything right and for me some reassurance that I will start losing weight. I'm sick of the food I'm eating and I'm so scared I had this surgery and its not working lol and I know Rome wasn't built in a day...

I'm two weeks post op and I'm in the exact same spot you are, I have lost 17 lbs and haven't moved from there. I'm hoping that its just my body getting used to all the changes and that it will get on board with the losing weight thing we got going on now lol.

Well I'm officially down 21 pounds! But that all happened in 11 days after surgery. Then it stopped, hoping too it will adjust and jump back on the losing bandwagon. What are you eating?

Just started tuna fish and scrambled eggs today, mainly been eating yogurt and mashed potatoes. I go back to work Sunday so hopefully walking around more will also help my cause...

Almost everyone hits a plateau within a couple weeks of surgery I hit mine at 3 weeks post op. Keep following your doctors instructions. It will work, the scale will move. Make sure you are getting in all your Protein and Fluid and make sure you are MOVING. Take a walk everyday. It really helps.

You are doing great! I have hit several stalls over my 4months and when people told me "you still lose inchs even when the numbers on the scale don't change" I thought NO WAY! but I was at 185lbs and in a size 16 jeans for 3weeks. I was noticing the jeans getting a little loose every day. Finally I went to get a pair of new jeans and had to go back out and get a size 12. Wow was I surprised! I am now down to 177lbs but that 8lbs was just this week! Keep up the good work!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
