Constantly feeling cold

Recommended Posts

Am I the only person experiencing this? I am currently in bed and cannot sleep. I am wearing a fleece coat, tank top and sweat pants and am lying under three blankets. My sleeping boyfriend is next to me nude with just the sheet on and is sweating. I've never been a person to feel cold all the time but this is driving me nuts already and I only had my surgery last week Wednesday.

I heard its linked to low Iron. And we are losing our outer coat. And it is unseasonably cold right now. Lol

I am extremely hot natured but I have been experiencing it also. Hopefully it will pass. I know that mine is my blood pressure has decreased and that might have something to do with it.

I've been having this issue. I'm two weeks post op. The house will be 73 degrees and my husband is begging me to let him turn on the fan while I'm in sweat pants a shirt and a sweater with a blanket over me shivering. . .

It will get better, trust me. Also, you may need to have your doctor do blood work and check your Iron and Vitamin levels to make sure you don't need more of something. Good luck.

Also, our hormones are out of wack. I am sure that does not help. Just make sure your Iron level is OK. I am always hot but lately if I get cold, I can't get warm. I wander around at night or sleep with a hot water bottle. It really does help esp when my hubby travels.

It's perfectly normal. You're losing a little fat and, more importantly, it's a low calorie diet. Your body just forsn't have the extra calories to burn right now. It gets better. My super-coldness started passing lastinth (7 months out). If I have a few low cal days or get sick, I still get super cold.

I'm always cold now, and I LOVE it! It was actually one of the things I looked forward to the most. I've spent so many years sweating my ass off and boiling hot, I'm loving being able to wear scarves and sweaters and cuddling up!

I spoke with the nurse at my bariatric surgeons office and she said it's completely normal and I would most likely feel cold all the time, which is a plus in the summer :D

Yes, always cold now. Not cool because my body temp has always been low (96 degrees). I'm like a snow lady!! Lol

I was like that for a month or two after surgery. Now I am cold all the time. It's weird getting used to it but I can't wait for the summer. Hopefully I can tolerate the heat and enjoy it.

I'm cold sometimes, but I'm still over heating. My hormone levels are fine. Have them tested all the time along with my thyroid. I would rather freeze than over heat.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
