Constantly feeling cold

Recommended Posts

Yes I think I would much rather be cold than hot and sweaty all the time. Hopefully it will all balance out soon:)

I'm almost 1 yr out and I just bought electronic heating blanket on amazon! Best investment ever. Also - if you have a lot of fat/ tissue/ weight around you butt, when that goes away, you may start having tailbone sitting issues.

All the time I'm freezing. It's almost 70 today and I'm under a blanket shivering right now.

I am 14 months out, my thermometer says my house is 74 degrees and I AM COLD! At night when I get into bed my husband doesn't want my hands or feet near him because he says I'm freezing LOL! I am always cold, but then again I was always cold pre-op. But now I get to the point where my teeth chatter and everything. My labs are all fine so I'm just hoping once I get to goal my body will catch up and I won't be so cold anymore! I'm glad I live in the southern states now because if I still lived in NY I'd probably be dying!

I welcome the coldness. I've been non stop over heating everyday for over two years. It wouldn't matter if i was sittingwith the ac blasting. My arms, neck, and face flushed and sweat dripping. I've done so many medical tests the past two years looking for answers. Do bring on the cold I'm ready!

I sleep with a heating pad and several layers... When I started this journey I was going through menopause.... So I like this better cause I'd rather make a cup of tea and wear a sweatshirt then have to blow dry my hair cause I just had a hot flash.. Surgery and menopause... Perfect timing!

Am I the only person experiencing this? I am currently in bed and cannot sleep. I am wearing a fleece coat' date=' tank top and sweat pants and am lying under three blankets. My sleeping boyfriend is next to me nude with just the sheet on and is sweating. I've never been a person to feel cold all the time but this is driving me nuts already and I only had my surgery last week Wednesday.[/quote']

Yes I never was a cold natured person. Always was hot and needed air all in the winter, but now I'm ways cold with the least little breeze.

I go to work wearing two layers of clothes and a heating pad at my desk. I have heated my blanket at night with a blow dryer( my family thinks I'm nutts) but you learn to deal with the cold. Did I mention I live in Hawaii, it's crazy you learn to bring a jacket every where you go.

I wouldn't have thought that it being 90degrees outside....76 in my house that I would still be cold!!!! Last year I would have been dying and had the AC on full blast. I can get used to this and enjoy my summer. Maybe get a tan too!!! Lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
