Vramos721 1 Posted April 22, 2013 Hi everyone, I had my gastric bypass on 4-4-13, so I'm about 2.5 weeks out. I have a horrible pain towards the front of my left side and right behind my bellybutton. Whenever I cough or sneeze I get a horrible burning/tearing sensation. The doctors keep saying everyone complains about pain on the left incision so I have been hesitant to bring it up further, but the more I pay attention, the pain is not from an incision at all... I'm thinking its a hernia? Anybody had similar problems?
Nel 189 Posted April 22, 2013 I had it. It went away. Heat helps. I felt like I'd ripped open that incision on the left of my belly button.. it hurt to stand, sit up, lay, move....it was sore to the touch. It DID go away though. After about 2 weeks.

Thank you!! 1 Nel reacted to this

DLCoggin 1,788 Posted April 23, 2013 Severe pain - call your doctor. That's what they're there for. It is most likely nothing to worry about but it's definitely something to be evaluated by the "boss". If he/she says it's nothing to worry about, the peace of mind alone will help you heal that much faster! 1 Dorian reacted to this
jazzyjett 2 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm having the same discomfort, however, I did have pain a week after that sent me back into surgery. I has scar tissue that had adhered my small bowel and it hurt a lot. If the pain is severe 7 out of ten Go to your doctor immediately!
