Driving Myself Crazy...Please Help

Recommended Posts

Ok maybe it's just me but I am still trying to figure out when I get full. My stomach does this rumbling and I get this sick feeling, thinking ok I must be hungry. I make my shake take sip after sip for like 30mins and still rumbling. How the heck do I know when I'm full. I do not want to over drink my shake cause I got to have my first dumping secession last night and that was not fun at all! Please help me out, I feel like I'm sick to my stomach all the time now. :(

I haven't found that the rumbling ever stops. At least for me that is. It still rumbles, and loud might I add! I always think I'm hungry so I eat like a cheese stick cottage cheese or piece of fruit.< /p>

I never know when I'm full I don't get that full feeling often. It's rare and it's more when I over do it. And by that I mean like on bite to many!!!:( sudden discomfort followed by FULL for at least 1-2 hours.

Mine makes crazy sounds that seem to have nothing to do with hunger. If I drink cold Water, I have gurgles and cramps past the pouch. If I eat, it makes crazy monsters inc sounds for hours. I mean hours upon hours.I barely last night!

I too had those funny sounds in my tummy and I thing its just the food or drink going through your digestive system.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
