CherryBlossom79 11 Posted April 19, 2013 My doc wanted to check my thyroid, turns out it is lazy. Might explain the 44lbs weight gain in the last 18months, or at least how more easely they came than before. So I am starting on some thyroid meds. But what I am worried about is does it affect the surgery or more so the weightloss after surgery? It would suck so bad if it will cause me to lose less after taking this step and all the sacrifice. jens1 8 Posted April 19, 2013 I don't know if it will effect your surgery or your weight loss afterwards. However, my husband has an under-active thyroid and he lost over 50 pounds in just a few months since the he started the meds for it.
cathyh 33 Posted April 19, 2013 It did not effect my surgery date for next week 4/23/13, I just found out I was hypo thyroid a month ago.

Nel 189 Posted April 19, 2013 Didn't effect mine at all. I've got hashimotos (severe under active thyroid--auto immune my body is actually killing it) and I've taken 150. Mcg of synthroid for over a decade. Course, I'm not losing super fast either and right now I'm on my 3 week stall
