nathaly 57 Posted April 17, 2013 Does anyone have any suggestions on how to combat Constipation without getting dumping? I looked At prune juice but it has too much sugar. The Phillips pills I got don't really do anything. I feel like I haven't gone in a week and really just want to clear it all out! Thanks! HW 283. SW265. SD 3/22/13! CW 244. JustJenn 542 Posted April 17, 2013 How far out are you? I thought for the 1st two months I was constipated, but after talking my surgeon he said your body is adjusting to life on less food and has less waste to get rid of. So in other words you don't have a collected amount to get rid of. If you aren't feeling the side effects of Constipation, I wouldn't worry. If you do... Call your surgeons office. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

nathaly 57 Posted April 17, 2013 I had mine 3 weeks ago. But I wouldn't mind except I feel it wanting to come out! It just hurts and doesn't. HW 283. SW265. SD 3/22/13! CW 244.

nathaly 57 Posted April 17, 2013 My dr recommended Miralax - and it worked wonders for me :-) HW 305 SW 292 CW 282 GW 150 Is it liquid? HW 283. SW265. SD 3/22/13! CW 244.
Sunnybare 6 Posted April 17, 2013 Miralax is an odorless and flovorless powder you can mix into anything. It works well and safe to use everyday. Just remember intake=output! I have a friend who only goes twice a week since surgery. She does add Fiber therapy into her diet so it is softer. If you are feeling it and it is too hard to come out you can get suppositories to soften the poo and make it easier to pass. Hope this helps
w106fox 62 Posted April 17, 2013 Is it liquid? HW 283. SW265. SD 3/22/13! CW 244. It's a powder you mix with Water or tea. It's odorless and flavorless but works gently and quickly :-) HW 305 SW 292 CW 282 GW

nathaly 57 Posted April 18, 2013 Oh man! I couldn't take it anymore it was time for a suppository (GROSS) but it worked and I feel soooo much better!!!!! I also bought miralax because this is not the first time since surgery and I'm gonna incorporate a bit in every few days. Thanks for all your advise ladies and sorry for the unsavory topic! HW 283. ECUJenn 116 Posted April 18, 2013 My surgeon really likes Metamucil clear and natural. It is a plant based laxative so you aren't putting so many chemicals into your body. I take two stool softeners per day and was still having horrible Constipation. I started the Metamucil last week and have been much better. P.S. for those using miralax. Have your doctor write you a prescription. It is so much cheaper. HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 291.1 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk
