blueyz80 29 Posted April 17, 2013 So I have my first appointment on Friday and was wondering if time starts going faster after the first appointment? It's seemed like time has stood still getting to this point. I guess I'm so ready and excited to start my new life that I want it done now lol
Jacqueline K 93 Posted April 18, 2013 Honestly no. Time has been dragging by for me!
blueyz80 29 Posted April 18, 2013 Bummer! That's not the answer I wanted to hear! Lol. So how far into this are you?
Kurstin 72 Posted April 18, 2013 I started my process Sept. 28, 2012. Time went by really fast up to this point. Playing the waiting game is the hardest part. Surgery scheduled May 2nd! Yours will be here before you know it. My suggestion.. Don't obsess. It makes time go slower. Lol I feel that is what slowed down the clock for me. The closer it got the more videos, research, shopping an talking I am doing about it just make it feel like these 2 weeks are years away. Good luck!
blueyz80 29 Posted April 18, 2013 Wow! Your surgery is right around the corner! It's hard not to obsess about it lol. I try to only get on here once a week but lately it's been about every night. Thanks for all the advice and good luck with your surgery. 1 Kurstin reacted to this
chubbsey1 126 Posted April 18, 2013 My first appointment with my Surgeon is on Friday as well, I'm going to sit down today and try to come with as many questions as possible for the Doc. the good, the bad and the ugly. For example hey Doc. what number of your patients have had complications? This frightens me the most! Good luck on your Journey.
leahkayy 7 Posted April 18, 2013 I started the first week of January and had surgery this past Monday. It flew by for me!

Jacqueline K 93 Posted April 18, 2013 Went to the seminar on 3/14 and have since seen surgeon, had EKG, and met with all the specialists the surgeon requires (NUT, fitness, mental health). I still have to do my pysch eval next week (nervous!) and then submit for insurance approval. My insurance has their own bariatric coordinator that I've had to speak with as well- I think all the various things that I've already had to handle the past month have maybe made it seem like more time has passed? Idk, just feels like I've been waiting forever and I've only been in the process for a month. lol Surgery date is looking like very end of May- maybe the 30th. I can't wait to actually know my date though- I think that once I know how much longer I have to wait I'll calm down some.

blueyz80 29 Posted April 18, 2013 Feeling great today! That's great to hear. Are you in a lot of pain or is it pretty mild? I realize that everyone handles pain differently but it's always great to hear other people's experiences.
leahkayy 7 Posted April 19, 2013 That's great to hear. Are you in a lot of pain or is it pretty mild? I realize that everyone handles pain differently but it's always great to hear other people's experiences. In the hospital, I think I had more pain than I do now that I am home. I would just say I'm uncomfortable as of now. Definitely gassy and I have to sleep sitting up because my belly is pretty sore. Nothing I can't tolerate though
blueyz80 29 Posted April 19, 2013 Well just got done with my first appointment and I'm kinda bummed that because of my insurance I have to be on a 6 month diet. I knew the surgeon required a 3 month diet but because of my insurance it's 6 months ugh! I'm a little bummed but I'll get through it. On the bright side I absolutely love my surgeon and his staff they are so nice
