4-10-13 was my surgery date. I am almost a week out. I feel fantastic, like I didn't even have surgery. Problem is now I am battling RLS. Never had an issue before. Its terrible to the point I can't sleep. Anybody else battling with thus?

No I'm not medicated. I never had an issue with it until after surgery.

When I had my sleep study the physician I talked to about my RLS said it often can be from nutrient deficiency. I would share it with your physician, they may want to do some labs.

I'm not alone! I had surgery on 3/20 and mine kicked in about a week later. It was so bad that I thought I may have had a blood clot and had to go in for labs and an ultrasound. I'll ask my doc in about 2 weeks at my 6 week appointment.

How funny. I literally just today had to have an ultrasound to rule out blood clots. What did the cause of yours end up being. I'm going for my 2 week post op and we are going to figure something out. I just can't sleep.< /p>

I don't think I have full on RLS (yet) but I have been experiencing jittery legs at night before I fall asleep post-surgery. What are the nutrients that could be lacking that might cause it? I read a post somewhere else on the Internet and one person mentioned taking Iron at night before bed.

That could be my problem. I was only taking 1 calcium pill in the AM & 1 in PM but I was supposed to be taking 2 in AM, midday & PM. I've upped it but still have restless legs. Maybe I've gotta give it more time.

Yes give it time. A few days you just continue to take it daily you will notice you will feel better.

Could be a few different things, dehydration, Calcium and Vitamin D according to the sleep doctor I saw are the most common. I started to take presc. strength Vit D pre op because mine was so low and it helped.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
