crazedteacher 38 Posted April 15, 2013 I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and every time I eat or drink anything it runs right through me. It has gotten to the point where it burns so bad I don't want to eat or drink anything because I don't want to have to go to the bathroom. Any advice? I don't think that's what should be happening.
Nel 189 Posted April 15, 2013 Agreed. Call your surgeon. I have regular BMs now...but have to use stool softener.
Gibbys Goddess 31 Posted April 15, 2013 I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and every time I eat or drink anything it runs right through me. It has gotten to the point where it burns so bad I don't want to eat or drink anything because I don't want to have to go to the bathroom. Any advice? OMG I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! I've had weeks & weeks of relentless diarrhea. Can't be away from a bathroom. To make it to my 2week post op I had to not have any Protein shake that morning. I'm 5 weeks today. It's a bit better now that I'm using Fiber powder (Target brand since Benefiber is off the market). I'm trying 3 doses a day, and its helping. You can put it in anything, solid, liquid, hot, cold. Might be worth a try.
Nicole K 352 Posted April 16, 2013 If your using milk, stop using it. You may be lactose intolerant after surgery. Use lactaid fat free lactose free milk. 1 nhnurse1 reacted to this
music1618 879 Posted April 16, 2013 I had diahrea for 6 months straight. I found that for me it was my B12. When I take my B12 under the tongue - no diarrhea, but when I skip a day I get to spend quality time in the bathroom. My doc said it made no sense at all. crazedteacher 38 Posted April 16, 2013 my doc said to try immodium and go back to liquids. I will do immodium but emotionally I cannot go back to liquids. I just can't stomach anymore of that. I am beyond frustrated. I am 3 weeks out today and have just had a rough time of it. I am questioning if I did the right thing.
music1618 879 Posted April 16, 2013 You did the right thing. You are at the stage that you regret the surgery. Trust me this too shall pass! Hang in there!
