My weightloss has stopped already

Recommended Posts

I'll be 3 weeks out on Monday. Surgery was done on march 25th. I lost 10 lbs on pre op diet and 15 lbs since surgery, but that's it not a pound more. I'm trying my best to get As much Protein and fluids. Just surprised its stopped already.

Anyone else around my surgery date going through this to?

No sweety.... It's too soon to say you stop losing weight. I'm sure your losing weight if you measure your self when you started this journey & now you will see a difference. Continue drinking Water & following doctors order. Stay positive & stay focus I realized now that I'm 10 months post up that the scale is only a number & if you let it get to you-you will go nuts.

Your body is in shock. A lot of people stall between 2-4 weeks out. I did at 2 weeks out and it lasted for 2 weeks. Don't stress about it....just keep doing what you're suppose to do and it will start again.

I stalled for 3 weeks when I was 3 weeks out. It freaked me out. I've noticed that whenever the scale stops moving, I seem to lose inches. I call it my body rearranging itself. I'm 8 months out and list 2 pounds in all of March. So far I've lost 8 pounds in April. Your body just needs a break to adjust. Having little stalls gives you more time for your skin to snap back. It's a good thing and perfectly normal. Totally frustrating though.

I lost 27 straight out of surgery then nothing for three weeks then started again I figured I was still swollen and healing. I don't stress out about the stalls it happens to everyone your body has to adjust this was MAJOR new plumbing .

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
