Need snappy come back line

Recommended Posts

I have a coworker that says to me everyday - girl you are too skinny and need to stop losing weight - or something to that effect. I am tired of telling her I'm healthy finally, or my body will figure it out.

Before I go off on her I thought I would ask everyone for a good snappy come back to stop the everyday comment.

FYI she is overweight and I understand she is jealous of me, but I am still tired of it.

I would say I would appreciate if you quit talking about my weight unless you would like me to talk about yours with all due respect.

How about "I have a GREAT surgeon, I can give you his number. He could do wonders with you!" No? Too mean? Lol

Seriously, I wouldn't even respond. Just ignore the comment and move on. Eventually if you ignore her enough she might take the hint and shut up.

I haven't gotten that small yet :-D But I do have people who the first thing the being up is loose skin... I let them know I'd rather have loose skin that I can cover then be so big I can't even move around.

So maybe next time you can politely reply with a smile on your face... Really? Well I feel great :-D guess I'll just have to look to skinny to you cus I feel a LOT better then being overweight and unhealthy.

I tell people.... I was struggling to get out the car. I couldn't work more then 4 hours with out my feet being in pain.... I can do all that and keep going... They usually have no more negative things to say to me when I tell them the positive ways my life has changed cus of surgery.

I have one that is probably 40 pounds overweight and she thinks everyone is too skinny. It's her idea of beauty. More a Lane Bryant beauty than a high fashion beauty and for years, that satisfied me when I managed to get down to it. :) But I'm going out of pocket 12k to be healthy on this and I'm pretty sure it's going to get me past LB beauty to high fashion beauty, even if I have skin to cover. You know, since I haven't been that small since high school.

I'm going to tell her I paid good money to be thin and I'll go as far as I want with it and if she can't support me in my journey, then to step aside. :) If it gets too bad, I'll tell her that I understand she likes chubby girls, being one herself and that there's nothing wrong with that, but it's sizist to not like skinny ones. I cannot wait to possibly be able to call myself skinny.

Or you could just grin, adjust your clothes in utter happiness and say THANK YOU!!!

"Girl, you are too nosey and need to stop minding my business!"

Well the mature and womanly way to approach the situation would be by saying with a serious face and tone that her comments about your weight deeply offends you and that you are sure she wouldn't like it if you were constantly telling her that she needs to stop gaining weight and that she is too fat.

And if that doesn't work then tell her that maybe if she stops gaining weight it wouldn't look like you are getting too skinny. Because you know the bigger a person becomes the smaller others look.

I'd just tell them that my surgeon and nutritionist both agreed on a healthy weight for me. I haven't had my surgery yet, but my family already tells me that my goal weight of 135 will make me too skinny. I tell them that for my height, I won't even be considered "normal" instead of "overweight" until I hit 135. that usually shuts them up.

I have gotten a lot of comments too and it sucks. I ignore them, but if it really bothers you I would just tell her, lets stop talking about me, I am happy. How about you? How are you feeling? OK, maybe not, but honestly I would just say, I am healthy and I don't need to be reminded all the time by you. My doctor said I am at a very healthy weight.

Whats that line: " You can never be too rich or too thin." Add that you're working on the rich part!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
