How about some NSVs!?!?

Recommended Posts

I've realized that when waking through the train that I take to work every day I no longer have to turn sideways and excuse myself for bumping I to everyone like I did before.

Also my knees and ankles dont ache all the time like they did before surgery :0)

My wedding rings flip around on my fingers and I was able to step over a children's gate at a friend's house this morning without issue (I always had to move the gate before). I noticed that I take up less space on the couch which makes me feel good.

Last week was my first week back at work and I thoroughly enjoyed "shopping" in my closet for smaller clothes I haven't been able to wear for a while!

When people call me skinny! As if I can understand that word!!! Also when they say don't lose too much more because that would be too much! Hahaha right!

I went to pick up my little cousins at daycare on Friday after work for my aunt. When I got there they asked to see my ID to verify I was who I said I was and permitted to get the kids. The daycare worker did a few back and forth looks at the ID and me. She didn't believe that it was me and was quizzing me on the info on my driver's license. It was was good feeling to know that I've lost so much weight that my license is unrecognizable! It's not renewable until 11/2017 so it should be interesting how different I look by then!!

Today I noticed myself standing with my hands behind my back, one hand holding the opposite wrist. It's been a while since standing that way was comfortable! I didn't even notice I was doing it at first it was so natural!

I crossed my legs yesterday! I did it without even thinking, like I've always been able to!

And this morning I bent right down to the floor to look at chart on the bottom shelf. AND I was able to stand back up! I haven't done that it in years! I was never able to do that 10 weeks ago!

This surgery was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm so happy to see the changes :D

Happy Thanksgiving all!! Today's victory came during Thanksgiving dinner!! I served myself a little bit of turkey, a little green bean casserole and 3 pieces of asparagus!! This would not have been possible without my sleeve!!

Some of my NSVs are:

Walking into work without getting short of breath.

I went to a restaurant and could fit in the booth without squeezing in.

I can bend over and tie my shoes instead of bringing my leg up onto the bed or sofa to reach my laces.

I can actually bring my leg up and cross it on the other one.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
