I'm.........NORMAL!

Recommended Posts

:faint:Well blow me down with a feather instead of a steamroller... I have a normal BMI :clap2:. However, my happiness is kinda squashed by the results of the weight loss. At first I worried about my neck..then my arms... then my legs... then my stomach...until I saw a photo of my FACE  :cry I look ten years older. So I guess its the plastic surgery road for me at some time in the future. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas concerning PS and any recommendations for Tassie or Vic? Cost......pain..... eek. damn it.

Hi Sharyn, I have no experience of plastic surgery so I can't speak to that, but I think you look wonderful, you should be very proud of all your efforts. I would like to have a breast reduction down the track. I have big breasts and they are heavy and cumbersome. I would like to have some laser work done on my face and some work done on my teeth. I just need to go on that show Extreme Makeover really!:biggrin1:

Hi Sharyn,

You look great and should be really proud of your result. Check out on line through the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons who is registered in your area or where you would like to go. I have not had any surgey yet but investigated alot before I decided on getting banded. My only advise don't restrict yourself to a particular state, find a surgeon you are happy with, it may cost a little more but results will be worth it in the end, this will be with you forever and you want to feel as good on the outside as you do on the inside!!! Kepp us updated and Good Luck!!!

I certainly would check the options for PS when/if I reached goal- basically I consider dealling with the folds of excess skin etc to be reconstructive rather than purely cosmetic ( very bit as much as breast reduction for someone who is too well endowed).

I don't know that I would have the nerve to have multiple procedures at once like on extreme makeover etc- the pain must be terrible!

Congratulations Sharyn, that's BRILLIANT!!!

I don't know about any plastic surgeons, but I think that Pavarthi (Jess) was pretty happy with hers. There's a couple of other mums near me who have had work done recently, if I get an opportunity I'll ask them who they had, what they thought and who else they'd heard of.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
