I cant wait! I pray that I can be successful with rny! Are there any "old timers" on this board who had revison from band to RNY? It would be nice to see if they are still successful.

I'm just wondering if other band to bypasses feel like they can eat more than they should? I'm eating 1000 cals a day and sometimes I want more. Do any of u guys feel like that? I'm only 5 weeks out.

My surgeon told me that 1000 calories a day is what I should be shooting for as well. Can you just eat some SF Jello or something to help you if you are hungry?

I have maybe twice gone over 1000 a little but it was more what I ate, not how much. I'm supposed to be at 3 ounces, I can comfortably do 3-4 but that's it! Are you hungry or do you just want to eat?

Can I ask what a meal looks like after surgery? Are you sticking with low carb, high Protein? How much protein do you have to eat each day?

I eat mostly Protein, at least 60g per day but usually 75+. Very low carbs: no potatoes, rice, bread, crackers or pasta--even whole wheat varieties. Very little fruit. I eat 70-80% protein and the rest veggies. That's a perfect eating day for me.

I'm lucky if I get 600/800 cal a day! I'm two months out. Most times I'm not hungry the only meal I eat that is large is Breakfast.

I had revision seven months ago, and feel so happy with it. I just feel normal, long gone are those choking feeling, no gagging, no forced or non forced puking, i can sit down and eat with my family (before i had to stand to eat, and that usually ended up with a rush to the bathroom)).

With the band i was always hungry or thinking of food or feeding on sweet stuff that me feel better. Now i eat a small meal and im satisfied. I do not live to eat. I just live. I have lost just about 105 pounds, feel great and best of all get to live the life of an active mum!

The only down thing of my weight lose in one of my daughters eyes is now she can't play hide and seek behind me!!!

Good luck with the op! It will change your life!

Thanks for the advice ladies. Yesterday I really listened to my body. I was actually really really hungry. I got in just under 1100 cals and 70 grams of Protein. I wish I was like u guys who r not hungry. Up until 4.5 weeks out I was like that. Now at almost 6 weeks out it just keeps getting to where I'm more and more hungry. I do have a munching prob at night being that I'm 2 yrs out from not smoking. I'm just scared that its going to keep getting worse.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
