Has anyone had the "mini-incision" rny and how did you feel/recover after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone had their gastric bypass by mini-incision (3.5 to 4 inches) instead of laparoscopic? If you did how did you feel after surgery and how long did it take you to recover? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I had open surgery and recovery is longer and painful. The scar tissue really hurts and is still tender to the touch 9 weeks later. I also broke a stitch about 10 days in and leaked Fluid. That was very scary.

Well idk if what I had is a mini incision but I have 5 very tiny incisions. 1 above my belly button, 2 on the left and 2 on the right and they are only about an inch long if that. They are healing beautifully. I'm 3 weeks out and they are almost invisible and I feel great most of the time!!!

For some reason he prefers to do RNYs openly. I was shocked because I thought it was going to be laparascopic. I was highly upset when I found out.
