Hot (temperature) foods hurting you too?

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 3 months out and have been experiencing issues when eating heated solid foods. Had a small homemade egg roll today and almost hurled.

Heated liquids such as hot Water, tea or Decaf coffee don't bother my tummy at all. I appreciate the fact that I feel full fast, but I don't want to feel like I'm about to throw up after 1-3 bites of food. It's made it very difficult to get my Protein in. I can eat an entire rice cake, (in several bites) but not a small boneless skinless chicken tender, so its not that its just that the liquid goes right through and the solids are sitting. I'm so confused.

My doctor gave me prednisone 10 mg , I'm almost 3 months I had surgery 1-21 and I'm the same way except I can't hold down any meat and everything liquid wise must be frozen and then defrost like Water I have to freeze and let melt ...protein girl you not the only one ,same here along with Vitamins etc so I get depressed at times bc I can barely eat anything last few days I have gotten less then 1000 calories and immediately after I eat I usually throw it back up , I go back to doctors and nut next week so hopefully something got to give .... Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
