nairali 48 Posted April 3, 2013 I had the same problem. My band had become attached to my liver. Are u converting to RNY and getting that band out? I slept on 3 pillows. Didn't eat or drink after 8. Definitely stay on something for the acid. Make sure ur not over eating and chewing well or go to liquids and puréed and c how that treats u. Benadryl seemed to help me for some reason too. I hope it gets better for u. I suffered for over a year. Converting to RNY has been the best thing ever. Good luck.

nairali 48 Posted April 3, 2013 Reflux, cough, choking, aspirating were gone IMMediately! It was great, so don't worry about that. Try the pillows with a travel pillow around ur neck. Eventually u will fall asleep and it truly helps. U will b so happy when u get that band out. Mine was the worst 2 weeks before surgery. Just look at it this way... Going on the liquid diet will just prepare u for after surgery. Get ur favorite Soups and purée them. Thinner mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes. Try to stay away from too much sugar. Protein Shakes and yogurt go down easy to w the band.
