So what's your new obsession since you started your weight loss journey? Everyone says that you shouldn't weigh yourself every day but I figure I quit smoking and gave up wine for a healthy new life.... Im going to weigh myself... It keeps me honest. My other new obsession is body lotions, creams, oils, you name it. Trying to keep the skin hydrated both inside and out lol!

Yes I must admit I want a new scale. The one I have now doesn't have "decimals". My husband agrees we need a new one since he's dieting also. ( he's my old obsession and biggest supporter) haha!!

coffee. I always liked an occasional latte, but I now drink coffee everyday. I usually do Decaf but ocassionally if I'm really tired I'll do regular.

I also weigh myself daily, sometimes more than once. If you weigh yourself right after you wake up and go to the bathroom, before you eat or anything, it's the lightest you'll be all day ;) I use that as my "true" weight, as I can "gain" at least a pound or 2 throughout the day. I always "lose" it by morning though

I'm a little further out than y'all, but one thing I've used as a big tool with me is music. I've got into music I never in my wildest dreams thought I would. Since my mother passed I do a lot of speaking about organ donation and I've become involved in that. I also enjoy cooking a lot more than I use too because it doesn't hurt my feet to stand like it use too so I really go crazy in there.

Yes, I always weigh myself in the morning. Funny this morning I got up at like 5 am to use the bathroom and tip toed down the hall to weigh myself (the scale is in my daughters bathroom) because I new she was getting up early and I would loose my window of opportunity. When I came back into the bedroom my husband had woken up and he says "hey go grab the scale, I want weigh myself too!" We both started laughing. Oy vey!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
