Does anyone else have the issue of having dragon breath with these Protein Drinks? I brush my teeth three times a day but as soon as I sip on any Protein drink/ shake, I get the worst breath imaginable. I work in close quarters and feel bad for my fellow cubicle mates!! I know gum is not recommended. I haven't found an option to it and I don't want to suck on mints all day!

Any ideas?

My parents had surgery about 4 years ago... My dad is always traveling with work and eating in the car. He keeps mouth wash in the car so before he goes and talks to clients he uses that to help with the bad breath! Don't know if that would be a option for you at work.

I heard it is a side affect of the weight loss it has a name for fast fat loss being burned. But I have gotten those listerine mouth melt things. That is what I use when it gets to me. I also find my teeth have more gook not sure how to describe it and I am constantly brushing my teeth. It just feels gross!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
