Dorian 683 Posted April 9, 2013 I had no catheter at all or drain tube. And they had me up drinking Water as soon as I was in my own room after surgery. Seems its done so differently between here and there lol as long as the outcome is the same I guess that's what matters! Congrats on being able to drink! It tastes soooo good doesn't it lol surgery date - Apr 5th/2013 9am I won't have a drain or catheter either when I wake up. And I am glad!

Dorian 683 Posted April 9, 2013 Today was a good day for me. Still struggling to get my Protein in but they called me today and said it will all eventually happen. The first bit its difficult and overwhelming till u get on schedule and organized. My energy is starting to get up again and each day I feel abit more better. So happy to finally be on the losers bench. How is everyone else doing? Are u getting enough liquids into you and taking all ur Vitamins? I love hearing everyones storys :-) you all are such an inspiration and great motivators! surgery date - Apr 5th/2013 9am It is such a learning process for Ya!! MaryMitchell 23 Posted April 10, 2013 Had surgery at 730 this morning. It went well, no complications and not much paid. About 4 out of 10. Anesthesia was great and NO vomiting. I as worried about that. I am waiting for my next Dilotid shot for pain. Also had a Heparin (blood thinner) in my tummy and it stings! no have already taken 6 laps of the 30 they want you to do each 24 hours. Started slow but getting better. Some gas pains in left shoulder but the incisions and drain don't hurt. Just tender. My doc does not do the swallow test unless there is a problem. Do not forget to bring Chapstick for after surgery. Thanks for all of your good thoughts. Scoot over....I just took a permanent seat on the Losers Bench! BTW lost 22 lbs on liquid diet! WooooHooo! 1 Dorian reacted to this

Feels great doesn't it? I had a total of three or 4 blood thinner shots. First one they gave in my upper thigh and OMG it hurt....I still have a huge black bruise from it. The rest all went into my tummy and were fine. Welcome to the losers bench :-) I look forward to swapping storys and future recipes woth all the april losers! surgery date - Apr 5th/2013 9am
jackie-o 22 Posted April 10, 2013 Ok, I think my surgeon put something back together wrong. My top incision feels like it is connected to something it shouldn't be. Everything else feels ok.

Wendilou 180 Posted April 10, 2013 So I was started on Clear Liquids yesterday. --yay!! I'm trying to figure out what my new baby pouch is telling me,. I seem to burp lot. Is this normal? I haven't passed gas yet, but I have done several walks up and down the hallways trying to get that moving. Does burping mean I'm full?
