Well, I've had a rough couple of days. Was in ER last night for dehydration. They gave me fluids and sent me home. Then my surgeon wanted me to be seen at his office today, because I have been having trouble swallowing Water. So the PA I saw today recommended that I start my acid reflux meds again, which I've been off since surgery. She also said that my esophagus is swollen from throwing up so I just need to be really careful with my sips. All in all I'm doing better now tonight. Not feeling too bad. Just wanted to give you guys an update. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Take it slow and easy, one day at a time, it will get better and easier. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

The strips didn't help me at all. The only thing that helped was the chewable gas-x. Even then it was still painful. I am sorry you are not feeling well still. I am still having a lot of pain too, but up and moving some. I am with you on walking just hurting more. The more I walk, the more my tummy plus down and my muscles hurt on the inside. I have taken an old pair of leggings and cut the top to make it a compression type thing, and then tied the leg portions together around me so that I can have some back support. It has really helped a lot!!! It just can't be too tight or it hurts more.

The surgeon said he uses binders to hold it together instead of a blanket. WheN i woke up in my room I had to ask 2 and demand the 3rd time. I wated an hour for pain medicine post op day 3. Same thing had to ask and ask and ask.

I am home and feel bloated and stuffed.

Does this sound right. 1/2 cup Water every hour.

I had this all memorized but now i am second guessing myself.

I just started the banana cream Muscle Milk shakes. They are yummy, no chalky taste at all. Just tastes like pie. Lol!

How do you make them?

There are a few ways. I tried the one that is ready to drink so I didn't have tondo anything. I am going to get the powder one and see if it tastes as good. They are a little pricey but waaaaaay better than the other ones I have tried.

You are not alone! My left side pain is still pretty bad. I sneezed yesterday and started crying! I feel like I would be way more active if I didn't have to hold my side all day! I know it takes time, but it is somewhat frustrating at this point! I have also tried gas x and Miralax thinking that maybe it was my bowel that was causing the pain, but no dice! Hope you feel better soon, but just know that you are not alone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
