Getting my gallbladder removed Friday. I have not had pain the last two weeks. Kinda makes me second guess getting it out now???

How did the gallbladder surgery go?

I'm happy for others. I try to hide my green envy as be glad for others doing successfully. I'm glad to be there

I feel I should have lost more by now myself. Though the doctor says I am right on target. I started at 296 and haven't seen 236 in a long time! Happy with the lose just wish it was more.

Good Day! Gallbladder is out and i'm feeling great!!! I love my Doctor!!!...Told him about the waves of pouch pain I get when my pouch is empty and he said sounds like a ulcer. He gave me acid reducer and some liquid that starts with a "C"....Maybe I can start losing again since i'm not always putting something in my pouch to make it feel better. Woohooo...so glad this is over and my empty pouch does not even hurt now..Good day all around :)

You will feel great fast. I had mine out on the 18 of Dec and was baking and cooking Christmas dinner days later. :)

Thank you so much! I do feel "fixed" now. Hubby and i were talking about dusting off the bicycles and start riding again...Can't wait, I love riding and haven't felt like doing much of nothing since RNY surgery. Time to re-focus and get my pouch working for me instead of against me. I swear...the last few months have been crazy. If i ate something my gallbladder would act up, If i didn't eat this ulcer would hurt. Could not win either way. Thankful to my Dr. for knowing how to make it better. I'm definitely going to give him a big hug next time i see him! probably a kiss too!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
