I had surgery 4/1 and I am able to eat a whole taco!!! I've done thAt one time. I ate slow and did not feel full nor any discomfort. I have never thrown up or had dumping syndrome. I don't even feel like I had surgery! I feel normal. This worries me!!! I had a stricture and I went in and had it dilate twice. Could that have messed me up? I am afraid of being able to eat too much and that I won't lose like others. I've lost 52 pounds since surgery and have been to the gym frequently. I can eat a single serve portion of popcorn also! It's a small bag but seem like I shouldn't be able to eat that this soon!!

Yes we did, but it was pretty boring. We will not be returning to that resort again. Shitty food, dirty Water. We might add well went to Puerto Vallarta at least its not full of sea weed.

can anyone suggest a sugar free breath mint? on my job I have to talk alot and the one thing I hate is that taste in the mouth when you have been at work for 10 hours constantly talking. Hate to know that my breath is not as fresh as I would want and can't keep going to the restroom to brush my teeth. the sugar free life savers that I used to eat don't taste right anymore after tastebud changes post surgery so any suggestions?

I use breath savers sugar free mints. They taste ok, nothing tastes the same as it did before to me.

Today marks 50 pounds lost since surgery! Kind of hard to believe. Has anyone else noticed that strangers smile more often, or that people in the grocery store strike up conversations, where as they didn't before? Was I that scary at 273 that no one wanted to talk to me? LOL! Glad to not be such an outcast by society's norms anymore.

I am to the point having nightmares of eating a full steak and waking up angry because I had been able to eat the whole thing. then realizing that it was just a dream. so that day is liquids only for me. Meal Replacements and Protein Drinks.< /p>

thanks I will pick some up and give those a try. I hate the fact that the sugar free things that I used to like I can't stand now because I have a full cabinet of crystal light packets and ocean spray cran-grape mixes and can't stand to drink a full bottle of either.

I dream about med-rare filets all the time with lobster mac and cheese....yummy. I have avoided eating out so far, but the first meal out is going to be that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
