Thanks krystal. It helps just to vent. I don't want to worry my family with negative, depressing things. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. I'm not always the best with advice but I'm a good listener. I do think you a great inspiration 4 wk without money is tough but the whole time you have always been so uplifting on here. I will pray that a blessing comes your way especially in time for your daughter's grad party.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I hope your blessing does come! I don't want to disappoint my daughter.

Avg anywhere from 300-500 and mainly lean meat and veggies. I use my fitness pal so I could actually show her. I thought amount wise I was volume eating too much!

Wow girly!....Love fitness pal...but always get a bad feeling after i hit the submit button to publish my food intake for the day. Don't you hate every time it tells us we are eating too few calories and weight loss will be slow if we don't get 1200. It's slow for me and i'm up to around 1000 a day. Still losing at the same rate as when i was eating 500????....I just don't know :/

Having a down day and need to vent. Have a lot of pain in leg and back today. Needing more pain meds and not getting relief. Am also fighting to get my long term disability. Short term is done and haven't recieved any money for 4 weeks. What about a spine surgeon saying I need surgery, and a pain management doctor saying that I can't work due to the slippage don't they f'ing understand!!??? I am getting the, "we need notes" and blah, blah, blah! How hard is it?? My daughters grad party is in 3 weeks and without a check, I'm gonna have to cancel. I have used our savings in the last six months due to being out of work, and only getting 65% for short term. This added money stress doesn't help the healing and pain issues, and the up'ed pain meds doesn't help the depression. Even the HR lady at work said I should for sure qualify due to the severity of my back. All of this is getting so old, and I'm at the end of my rope!

So very sorry Dorian :/....I wish there was something we could do to help your pain. Hang in there. Prayers your way.

I hope your blessings do come! I wish I could

Help somehow. My father had to fight for so long for his veterans disability and it took getting a congressman involved on his behalf. I wish I could do something for your pain.

Thanks. I have worked at my job for 22 years and have an outstanding record. You would think that would count for something when getting LTD thru the employer. As a veteran, your father shouldn't have had to fight for anything! He would've been given his disability right away! What is wrong these days!

We are still waiting on my husband's disability to even get reviewed. We applied for it a year ago and have heard nothing other than they have it. While in he deployed three times and saw major combat. He is scared to claim PTSD or depression although he has both pretty badly. He is only calling his back knees and ears. His back goes out once a month from nothing and has a steady stream of constant pain. He tore his meniscus in both knees while deployed and did nothing for him so they grind and you can hear it very loud.... not popping.... grinding. Also he has ringing in his ears that he said gets louder and louder as the day goes, so by the late afternoon he can barely hear me unless I yell. Its unfortunate how they treat our service men and women.

Well it was a bit harder 14 years ago. Of nothing positive came from the recent wars we have been in its that American troops are finally having better care and benefits. My daddy is about to lose his fingers now from dioxin poisoning from sent orange. He's is very poor health and is covered from head to toe and the VA can't do much more to help with the dioxin poisoning now. He rarely leaves home now.

22years should speak so highly for u. I hope it comes through for u soon!!!! You are such a wonderful person here to talk to and I have been happy to get to know u more!!

This is one of the things that really still frustrates me with our gov. I was a Army nurse 3 years and now a AF nurse for over a yr and I see so many cases like this and it makes me feel helpless. I hope he hears soon. I appreciate his service. We go Jul 1 to Wright Patt AFB to see if my husb is going to be

Medically boarded. Been there done that a year ago. I hope it all works out for u guys!! Please tell him not to be afraid to claim PTSD. Tbi's are so common now there isn't the stigma anymore

So I have a question or 2. Have any of u guys became lactose intolerant or developed really intense food aversions? I have and it shocks me. Certain things make me wanna gag or throw up thinking about them now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
