I had mine removed two years ago too. It is WONDERFUL not to have to worry about a period. Love it!

I was wondering if anyone had the Mirena, I had not had a cycle in years before I had the surgery. Then last week, boom!!!!! It lasted a whole week, I didn't even have supplies! LOL! I didn't expect this and the doctor didn't mention it.

Mine either! My situation sounds so similar... Sick' date=' pain, another surgery for bowel obstruction and my husband saw me about 30 min total in 4 days. Wasn't even there when I went in or came out of surgery.[/quote']

Sounds like my man.

Yes...I have the mirena in and no period this whole time. I had surgery on 4/23 also. Same thing happened to me BOOM there it was. Grrrrrrr I hope it does not continue. I assumed it was because my body was in shock and under stress.

Me too!!! I have a mirena and haven't had a period since my son was born. Then all the sudden, i got my period too. Craziness! I always thought it was because of the mirena and not the fact that i gained thirty lbs and never got it off. Who knew! Lol

Ugh, I woke up this morning and both underarms are swollen and tender. I can see big lumps from my lymph glands. I called the surgeon and he said to get into my regular doctor. I don't have a high fever, just a slight one. I hope it's not from an infection or something. I go in at 9.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
