Went to an appointment with my pcp today. I have purposely not been weighing in at home because I don't want to know when I hit a stall or have an off day... The scale causes too much stress. So I was really excited when I had to weigh in at the doctor today and I was down 24 pounds since surgery... Which was 24 days ago. Yay me!

Hope things start to look up for everyone that posted today about having a rough day and hard times. We can do this.

Also to answer the post about rapid weight loss and gallbladder issues. You are correct it can cause gallstones in some people. My doctor prescribed me a medicine that I take twice a day to prevent them just as a precaution. He said I am on them for the first 6 months after surgery because that it when the most rapid weight loss takes place.

Enjoy your weekend everyone. Let there be sunshine!

Congrats! You are doing awesome!

I cant keep anything down I feel really sick my tummy hurts bad and doctor cant get me in till monday my head is killing me I was fine a week ago but now everytime I stand up I feel dizzy

Doesn't sound good Krystal. Id go get checked out. You may be dehydrated for one thing. Some fluids via iv may help you feel better. Good luck and wishing everything turns out ok. :(

This is my biggest fear for post surgery! I have plans for how I will get in my Protein and things that I will eat, like cottage cheese. What if after surgery, I hate the taste of everything I like now!

My taste buds changed was told that in a group that this would happen. I bought a whole cabinet of crystal light and ocean sprays drink mixes and can't stand the taste of any.

You sound dehydrated. Are you home or did you go to the ER?

Sending prayers your way.

Geez' date=' glad to know I am not the only one that feels like crap today. Eating okay but just not feeling well. I haven't had the energy or motivation to clean or shop or anything. I feel like I need to go spend time on a beach with a cool breeze and remember why I am working so hard to have a longer life, so that I can enjoy it. Gotta get outta this funk but how???[/quote']

Hope your feeling better. I pushed fluids. Rested, worked around the house, repeat. I feel better. Tomorrows a new day. Get plenty of rest.

I dont have a scale either. I dont want to be a victim to it.

I just try to chug along and get my fluids in and Protein.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
