Do you feel nausea all the time? You can get a prescription for nausea from your doctor. Have you tried the ready mixed Isopure from GNC? it is clear Protein Drink more like Koolaid than a milkshake. Maybe they would work better for you. I like the Blue Raspberry best.

I am not having nausea, though I have phenergan if I need it. Blue raspberry hmmm. Does it come in a can?

It comes in a glass bottle. Make sure you get the zero carb one, and I would try it before you buy a bunch. It does have a weird aftertaste that some people can't tolerate.

I bought a case off of Amazon of the 8 ounce grape frost. It is NASTY tasting to me.

I actually wasn't the one that said you lack communication skills. I simply noted that your comment felt judgmental' date=' read your response, and moved on to more productive conversations. If you are uncomfortable in this thread I understand, but it seems like everyone else has moved on. I am above name calling, and have not done so anywhere on this forum. Feel free to take your advice, read comments more carefully, and think before you type. Im not going to apologize for speaking my mind, but let's get on with our new lives with a little more positivity.

It was me...I said you were bad at communicating. But look "hard work pays off " is a phrase I tell my kids all the time. I like that phrase a d it is so totally true. Your comments just seem a little abrasive/insensitive to those that ARE working hard and are still having a difficult time meeting their goals. This site is also a tool. It keeps us ENCOURAGED. You get what I'm saying now? Best of luck to you.

Bottled sadness and burnt rubber, no lie. I almost threw up when I tried that stuff. I had such hope for it too. Ugh.

Omg you nailed it, it's after taste is like burnt rubber! I might as well put it in the trash because I'm not going to drink it.

The fruit punch one, it might be alpine punch or arctic punch.. Something like that...is better, but you still get that sort of filmy Protein thing in the back of your throat. I have to say it went down easier than the creamy shakes one day, though!

I guess I will need to temper my justice with mercy. I will leave my abrasive comments for the man section of this forum  . At any rate, good luck on your journey ladies.

You're a man? Well no wonder! And I don't mean that in a bad way, it just kind of helps explain. I hope you contribute to this thread, it's for all April surgery dates. Btw, I took your comments as Judgemental as the others, but it's the internets. We're all willing to move forward.

Okay' date=' is anyone else sore? I'm super sore right at my belly button. I'm worried I've got a hernia or something there. Also, how many had their surgeon send home a binder or have bought a binder? Did it help at all? I think one would. If you do have a binder, what brand? If you bought one, where?[/quote']

I have a question I'm a couple pages behind so someone may have asked this already but what's a binder?

I got the unflavored protein. Chick broth and cheese sauce from Unjury and so far they are great. Not sure if I will like them after surgery but hopefully I will. You can get there welcome kit for $21 I think which has a decent selection to try.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
