Nel 189 Posted April 16, 2013 I hope so. I've only lost 12 since surgery. It seems like a lot...but not when you consider what I've been able to eat...which is like..nothing lol

It seems like a lot...but not when you consider what I've been able to eat...which is like..nothing lol Keep in mind a pound is 3500 calories...a lot of times when you're post op your metabolism slows down so you're not burning as many calories as usual and most people aren't as active as they were pre-op at least for a bit so you're not burning as many....12 IS a lot!! 6GP2008 1 Posted April 16, 2013 For the folks that are discouraged about not losing weight, let me ask you guys this? What kind of exercise/activity are you guys doing? This is merely a TOOL for your weight loss...you will still need to be more active. Even though I just had my surgery on the 11th, I don't make it a priority to step on the scale. In my opinion, you guys should stay off the scale and start working out...hard work pays off!

ellabell2140 2 Posted April 16, 2013 Finally diet advanced to puréed foods from clear liquids. The first thing I have had in a week that I couldn't see thru. It's a hard boiled egg chopped up fine in my magic bullet. Tis is the best thing I have ever eaten. Lol. I wish I felt like exercising. I am still on the losers bench down 37.2 pounds. But I know I have to start exercising soon. I am feel that by finally advancing my diet to more than clear liquids maybe I will get some energy back. Good luck to everyone 1 Wendilou reacted to this
Lou:) 110 Posted April 16, 2013 I was able to walk for 25 minutes yesterday before feeling faint and had to walk home. I was only about 5 minutes from my house. Prior to surgery I would walk my whole neighborhood at a quick pace and it would take 45mins. Yesterday it was slow moving. I want so bad to be able to work out normally to boost weight loss, but I'm not there yet. 1 Wendilou reacted to this

My doc days it will probably take 3-4 weeks to get back to normal energy and pre-surgery activity levels. Good on you for getting out there. Keep trying, it gets easier!! I had my friend take my scale so I won't be obsessed. I have decided to weigh every month on the 8th since my surgery was on 4/8. I have high expectations and hope I lost a lot to help me press forward through more liquids....

I'm not up to 45 minutes yet. Makes me feel ill. It's back to work on Monday, I work full time and only had 3 weeks off, but the notion remains the same. Calories in and calories out is dietician 101. You would think it would take more to run my body than the 500 calories I manage to choke down. If that. In my opinion. 1 Wendilou reacted to this

I apologize if it doesn't come off as "supportive" but that's your opinion. I understand that people have their frustrations and want to vent but I really don't see any issue with how I responded. If someone steps on the scale daily, for example, they may drive themselves crazy.
califmomto4 84 Posted April 16, 2013 Just got back from a short walk around the block. Only .67 miles and I'm pooped. I normally walk at least 3 miles a day. Tomorrow is one week so hopefully the endurance will improve. 1 Wendilou reacted to this

Maybe you have poor communicative skills I don't know. Surgery date 4/18/13 @ 7:30 am 5 missmegan, jules1210, Krystal7k and 2 others reacted to this
hockeymumzie 181 Posted April 16, 2013 Just had my first matrix cookie mint shake since pre op. Still tastes just as good. Plus the 23 grams of Protein helps. Joined the losers side 4/11/2013 1 Wendilou reacted to this
