all this loose skin....... ugghh

Thought I'd put this out there. I'm so excited to be almost at goal (35 lbs to go) but all this loose skin is so discouraging. I still don't wear the sleeveless tops and shorts I always wanted cause it looks worse than just having fat arms or legs. Anyone know of a good plastic surgeon and reasonable rates in AZ/CA area? Any thoughts on getting costs of skin surgery at lower reasonable rates? This is the last step of the journey and I'm not sure I'll be able to afford this final phase, total approx cost is $30k!!

I've lost major weight in my life, over 100 - 175 lbs on three diff ocassions. Mostly with Atkins. Now that I've finally had the bypass, I recently lost 52 with 35 to go. That will bring me to 165. When I went to plastic surgeon at weight of 170 three years ago she said I had 35 lbs in excess skin alone. I know this will inevitably be the same situation (I already see it in the arms and stomach). My skin will never stretch or tone back to normal so surgery is the only answer for me.

I would talk to a personal trainer first to see if the can help ... Because honestly a plastic surgeon will tell you anything to make a dollar bill...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
