Real cheese crackers?!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

The other day I saw someone post that they were eating crackers that were 100% cheese. I can't find the thread.

Anyone know what these crackers are called?

Thanks

You may be referring to melting shredded cheese in the microwave on wax paper.

It comes out like a great little cracker.

No, I saw it too. It's in the "what are you eating" thread....I think. They were actual prepackaged crackers. I don't know the original thread, but these are them. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/products/gr/gourmetcrisps.htm

Baked Parmesan cheese Crisps

Do you remember when macaroni Grill started placing these amazingly large baked pieces of Parmesan cheese on their salads?? No?? That's OK... they only did it for like 5 months! But they were absolutely amazing... and so started my obsession with baked Parmesan cheese crisps.

These are really easy... you need 1 ingredient, an oven and a hungry tummy!

Baked Parmesan Cheese Crisps

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

Directions:

Place a heaping pile of Parmesan Cheese on a silicone baking sheet (if you don't have a silicone baking sheet, use foil or wax paper) and pat down. Repeat with up to 6 on one sheet. Make sure they are spaced out about 1/2".

Place in the oven at 400° and bake until golden and crispy.

Mine took about 8 minutes, but I would suggest checking them after 4 minutes and then keeping an eye on them!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
