Food as fuel...

Recommended Posts

I remember this really hot personal trainer I had.

He said I don’t enjoy food - food is fuel to me - and my body is my work - it is my billboard -

what does your billboard say...

in and out burger

taco bell

little caesars

burger king

etc etc etc...none of us needs ideas on how to eat like crap.

I know my large 350lb body screams junk food.

What do you want your new billboard to say?

My husband just reminded me about this trainer -

ok not this part...

he was unbelievably hot - think difficult to look at hot

this part:

he said it all the time - stop eating for enjoyment - eat once a week for enjoyment - allow one meal as a splurge - eat to fuel that body - eat lean Proteins and you will have a lifetime of success...his words are true - and when I’m on the loser bench I’m going to remind myself everyday - and right now while I prepare for the surgery - I’m going to remind myself everyday - eating for enjoyment for pain for fear for whatever is OVER - eating to fuel this amazing engine I have is my new motto.

My mom always says nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels. She stays pretty thin, but gains weight occasionally and can pull back the reins.

I also had tried a "not diet" called the naturally slim program. They had a lot of good ideas. They said that thin people enjoy food and heavy people do not. Watch a naturally skinny person eat and you will see they eat slowly and savor the food. Heavy people just shove the food in their mouth and barely chew it before they swallow. It will take a skinny person 20 minutes to eat the same thing it takes for a heavy person to eat in 7 minutes. It takes 20 minutes for the chemicals from your stomach to ghetto you brain, so the skinny person will get full and not eat the entire meal but a heavy person will eat the whole meal and want desert because the do not know they are full yet.

Hot mama! Instead of big mama ! That's a good point about not enjoying it and it being just fuel!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
