Cherry 71 Posted March 27, 2013 This is a question for ALL NATURAL RED HEADS I pose this question specifically to redheads because of the gene mutation we have Did you find that any of your surgeons recognized the specific issues of allergies and pain management that we share? Did any one of you notice that you had specific reactions to anesthesia? As a red head, I have had alleric reactions to things my entire life. My surgeon is aware of my history obviously, but I still am always interested in the expereinces of other red heads. Thank you
LilBoo007 491 Posted March 28, 2013 Well I'm a natural red head and so is my son. All I know is that both of us seem to need more pain meds then others, and they need more meds to knock us out or numb us for like dental work. I've heard that's common in reds! 1 Cherry reacted to this
babs963 201 Posted March 28, 2013 Very common... My doc always brings that up and I always request a specific anesthesiologist who is a redhead herself whenever I have surgery. ( we have a tendency to bleed more too) 1 Cherry reacted to this
