Me and my boyfriend go on dates quite often and almost always they involved going out for food or drinks then a movie or some "sexy time". Now we can't do food or sex (I'm only a few days post op) and we've already watched every movie in the theater and every show on tv! I need some ideas on non food dates that don't involve the outdoors cause it's freezing cold here or a lot of walking since my energy is in the dumps!

Thanks!

Cards are an option, if you are computer savvy try a computer game together. Take up an indoor hobby, wait, nm you said sex was out. . . . Jk!! We got the uncharted series for the play station and played that. Also u could always do relaxation stuff together. Put on some soft music, I live enya, and light some candles. Tell each other stories of what u imagine life being like ad you grow old. I know it sounds cheesy but start out like this: so we are in a house, it's a single story ranch with big bay windows, your driving that truck u want and I am playing in the yard with the kids. U come home with steaks from the store and Water balloons even though u know I hate balloon fights. Just a way to get closer without having to have sex. I know it's probably stupid, just something that would seem nice to me.

Board games are always fun for me! Shopping or just walking around the mall or people watching. Take up the ukulele -- you can practice together and sing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
