Does anyone ever feel this way? (remeber the Jenny Jones Show?)

I was curious if any of you have ever felt like you need to confront someone in your past that may have not treated you the way you deserved when you were heavier.

I remember when Jenny Jones used to have those "Geek to Sheik" shows or the like and these people that were picked on in school made major transformations and confronted the people that made them feel like shit in school.

Would that actually bring closure to pain you felt in the past that may still be haunting you?

Personally, I don't feel like it would bring closure. I wouldn't think that just losing weight and looking great would make me forget the pain. That is something that I feel I would have to deal with on my own whether I am heavy or skinny. Now it would make me happy to rub in how great I look (when I actually lose all that weight that is!). The surprised look on there face when they realize that I look amazing and they are probably still a snot would be priceless! That reason alone is why I hope to have a lot of the weight off when we have our high school reunion next summer!!!

i completely agre with Denise - unfortunately the pain would have to be dealt with by the abused - and most of those mean ass bullies never change and continue to be abusive throughout their life - although i must admit i have experienced that look on people's faces when I have looked amazing and that does wonders for ones ego - lol.

No.

The best revenge is to live well. Don't waste your time being jealous of what you perceive others having or resenting them for how they have treated you - you probably don't have a clue as to how screwed up their personal behind the scenes lives really are. You have to wonder what personal traumas and demons drive their behaviour. If they are capable of personal growth then they will regret their actions anyway, if they are not capable then nothing you can do will have any effect on them.

Never argue with a pig. It only makes you look stupid and it annoys the pig.

What I remember most about Jenny Jones is that she hosted a guy who wanted to hook up with a secret crush (another guy), and the "surprised" guest was so indignant, he killed the would-be lover.

Ambush journalism at its worst.

I think a lot of time the people who are mean to others are masking their own pain. I remember going back to a 20-year reunion and there was this one guy who was always smart-mouthing everyone. He admitted at our 20 year reunion that he wasn't very nice and apologized. He also revealed that his mom was a raging alcoholic and his dad had skipped town and he had a great many responsibilities.

I've heard that sometimes it is beneficial to write a letter to that person and tell them how you feel and when you are done rip it up.

I think that most of the time what has effected our lives has had no effect on the others. A person who made you feel bad in High School say probably does not realize what effect they had on your life. That's what I've learned from all these talk shoes where they bring the "offender" back to be confronted. SOmetimes they don't remember the person at all.

We need to learn to let go of the things we can't control and learn from our experiences. Never let someone destroy your life, for they become the winner. Reclaim your power and enjoy life!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
