Haven't even had the surgery yet,but have NSV!

Since I went to the surgeon, I have tried my hardest to stop drinking soda. I haven't had once since March 15. Yesterday we went out to eat and I ordered Water. The waiter brought me a Pepsi. Ice cold Pepsi!!! He walked away before I could say I didn't order it! But he came back in just a minute and said Oh I'm sorry, you ordered water, I'll get that right to you. But he LEFT THE PEPSI ON THE TABLE!!! I just pushed it to the other side of the table and DIDN'T DRINK IT!! Even when I was "dieting", I would have at least taken a drink of it! That made me realize I believe I am on the right path this time!!!!

I know how you feel. I was a pepsi junkie! Last time my hubby took me out we ask the server not to bribg the fresh bread that came with our meal ( I love it) she did anyway... I wanted it so bad. But I didn't give in. I covered it wuth a napkin and ask her to remove it tge next time she came by and she argued with me! She had the nerve to get snotty and tell me that it comes with all dinners and they have to serve it. The waitress from the next table came by smiled and removed it tge minute she walked away.

I think it is so rude of wait staff to insist you take something I had one argue with me that I should have a drink so know if I go out to eat I just order a Water and leave it on the table have not touched soda since June 2nd 2012 which was 2 1/2 months before surgery I can't say I don't want one once in awhile but I resist the temptation and will not give in nothing taste as good as skinny does keep up the great work and even better then being skinny is being healthy no more meds.

Oh yes, diet pepsi is my devil! And diet mountain dew! I gave it up in march 2013, didnt drink it for 3 months, but recently i have had it when i go out... But it makes me flushed and sweat, and doesnt taste as good as it used to. So i think i can resist. Still preop, waiting on insurance and a date.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
