I had a very emotional non scale victory this weekend. It was a year ago this week that I took my 3 little ones to the Wisconsin dells for spring break, I remember being so embarrassed that I couldn't fit into the tube on the lazy river. I had to hold onto Tue outside of the tube. This past weekend and almost 4 months out from my surgery, I took my children to an indoor waterpark, I was astonished to see how easily the tube slid right over me, I literally started tearing up. Not only that but I went down the waterslides with my children multiple times. It definently paid off because I lost another 2 pounds just over the weekend for a total loss of 72 pounds. I thank god every day for this opportunity to start a new life.

Congratulations and I can tell you because I had a similar experience last year that I will probably cry too. I took my older girls 14 and 11 to Six Flags along with 2 of their friends. We went to the Water park and we were going on the Water coaster and I got laughed at by three not very nice 20 something girls. My girls were so upset naturally (with the mean comments), but I know there must be a part of them that was also a little embarrassed. I am so looking forward to the day I don't have to worry about that ever again!

I am so happy for you and the goal that you have attained. Keep going YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Thank you heather and I'm sorry u went through that. People can be so mean, I don't get it. Life is to short, we should all treat each other how we would want to be treated but unfortunately that doesn't happen. They won't be laughing at us anymore........go us :-)

Congrats. That's awesome what you have accomplished. This weekend I went to a trail that is 5 miles. I accomplished it and made it through. The weekend before I only made it 2 1/2 miles. I thought I was going to die and now I did it and I thought I was going to die but there was a light of hope and I made it. Tears of joy. Congrats again.

I had my surgery 1/29/13 and have lost 44 lbs so far.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
