Leg pain = vitamin deficiency?

Recommended Posts

In the last 4-5 days, my legs have been crampy and achy - like when you have the flu, but enough that it wakes me up at night. Tylenol helps a little, but neither exercise nor rest makes any difference. My mom suggested that I may be deficient in Potassium or Magnesium... Has anyone heard of this? I picked up supplements of both and started them today, so we'll see if that makes a difference... Thoughts? Suggestions?

Could also be low sodium, or heaven forbid a blood clot. I think you should see your doctor. At least call and make him aware.

I agree call your Doc in the morning. It could be those things. And they may want to do a blood test to see if this is the case. Then they will tell you how much of the potassium and magnesium you need. They may even give you a prescription for them if you are that low. But it does sound like something is amiss. And I know it is so frustrating and uncomfortable. I suffer from restless leg syndrome and take meds for it every evening. But I have felt what you feel and It is different. You need to get it checked out so you can treat it and feel better.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
