Are we ever able to eat bread..corn..or Pasta? ?? Or what are some alternatives for these? Just getting some future meal plan ideas (far down the line...I'm only 12 days post op).

Yes! I'm 3 months out. I have tried rice and whole grain Pasta. Also a little bread. I try to stay away from them as much as possible but have had them. Protein first. hope this helps.

At some point you can but moderation and not much. Most people get too full of off carbs and then don't eat the nutritious part of meal (meats, veggies and some fruits.) I know of people that will have a slice of pizza occasionally but they typically try to eat very low carb, low sugar. I am two months out and I use Atkins penne ordered of Amazon and make homemade mac and cheese another Pasta dish with. They are lower in carbs then regular Pasta. You can also look for whole wheat breads and pastas. You really want to change your way of eating because those processed foods high in carbs, pizza, pasta are what most of us over indulge in. I would guess 75% of us are carb addicts and if we would concentrate on low carb foods we would have no cravings and probably wouldn't have gotten into the situations we did (me including).

There are lots of good pizza substitutes out there if you love pizza.....

I'm 5 and 1/2 months post op. I do occasionally eat bread, but never anything like a tortilla or a flat bread (bad experiences!). I also eat corn. Again, it's certainly not often, but I won't specifically avoid it. Pasta, rice and the like has never sat well with me, so I avoid that completely. Hope that helps. Congratulations!!

My nutrition packet says bread is ok but to try to stick with toast or flatbread or wraps.

Every program is different. I told my nut about my attempt to cut carbs and she got mad because she doesn't want the focus to be on cutting anything out of our diets and instead make better and balanced choices. I am a catabolic by nature however one thing I have noticed post surgery (3months) I don't crave and/or want carbs like before and it makes me uncomfortable as you can't eat much anyways. Hope that helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
