Recommended Posts

So my surgery was Feb 4, and I'm 6 weeks post op, so far I've lost 53 pounds, from 252 down to 199.5 which I'm excited about, however I'm having problems advancing to the solid stage, I haven't been able yet to do that. Every time I try something my stomach hurts like crazy and I feel like the food is stock on my throat therefore I end up throwing up. Until I throw up everything I attempted to eat I won't feel good. The only solid thing that I could eat is the soda crackers and its maybe 2 of them. I'm really afraid that I end up going back to the hospital because a lot of people have told me that i might have a stricture, even though I'm drinking my Vitamins and Protein Shakes I still feel weak and tired. It's this normal??

Don't be afraid of a stricture, I am still on phase 1 (clear liquids) but my doctor did explain a stricture could happen and all they do is go in by endoscopy and "pop it" open. It shouldn't hurt as you will most likely be asleep through the process. You better check with your surgeon!!! Feel better soon. :)
