ThinMinty95 0 Posted March 20, 2013 Hey everyone I had mentioned this in another post, but for some reason my surgeon didn't put me on a pre-op diet. They said I can eat normally, but lightly, the day before the surgery, and nothing after midnight. I don't think this is how it's usually done. Has anyone else not had a pre-op diet? beckyford 57 Posted March 20, 2013 I have many hoops to jump thru before I can be scheduled but I know I will have to be on strict liquids for two weeks before surgery.

nienie 113 Posted March 21, 2013 I didn't have to be on any certain diet for surgery. I was just to not eat anything after midnight before surgery. Every surgeon and their program is different. I had no issues and am thankful I wasn't on any major restrictions. 1 blueyz80 reacted to this
Zima617 15 Posted March 21, 2013 I too did not have a pre-op diet. I had many "last meals" Since my surgery was the day after Christmas and I was on a clear liquid diet on Christmas Day. I put white grape juice in a wine glass =-) My surgery went well and I was totally ready, did not feel deprived and did great post op. I feel great and this was the best thing I have EVER done for myself!!! 1 nienie reacted to this
Lauri M 1 Posted March 21, 2013 Hey everyone <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I had mentioned this in another post' date=' but for some reason my surgeon didn't put me on a pre-op diet. Has anyone else not had a pre-op diet?[/quote'] Yes I have been on the Optifast program for 2 weeks now and for another 2 weeks until surgery. It consists of 5 shakes a day and 1 bar! Consider yourself lucky! It's very difficult. My best friend had this done and her doctors didn't do it either. I just think it depends on who's your doctor!
