ronbo67 12 Posted March 20, 2013 Not sure if I should be frustrated or not..... I've lost 36lbs since surgery(2/12), but the last 2 weeks have been next to nothing. Exercise has been slow with having 6 knee surgeries in the past. But I don't want that to be an excuse. I don't want any excuses! I have seen a lot of great stories on here and I want to be one of them. I heard males lost more and faster, but I may be an exception. Staying positive no matter what! nienie 113 Posted March 20, 2013 Okay-you have lost over five pounds a week. i don't think you can get discouraged at this time. If you told me you had not lost weight for the last two months then I would say I would be frustrated. Don't have unrealistic expectations. A loss is a loss and as long as you are going down on the scale be happy. Ask yourself if you could have lost 36 pounds in 5 weeks without the surgery. I am 8 weeks out and have lost 39 pounds and am very happy. If I compared myself to you I could be depressed but I know we all lose at different rates. ronbo67 12 Posted March 20, 2013 You're right. Just lost so fast the first 2 weeks and not much after that. Sometimes I've got to remind myself that this is for life and not a short term fix. Thanks and best of luck to you 1 nienie reacted to this
sleevemeup 41 Posted March 21, 2013 I had surgery on 2/14, and I am at 35. I have also had a total of 9 surgeries on my legs (6 knee). I have just been walking and recently started the elliptical. It's remarkable how much better my legs feel. I had a slow week around wk 3. Now it's picking up. It just takes time. Best of luck! 1 ronbo67 reacted to this
