I think I have a UTI, I've never had one before. I fee like I have to pee, not even 5 min after peeing. I looked it up and this can be common after a catheder. I'm 5 weeks out. Did anyone else have this? Do I need to go to the dr or will it go away on its own after a few days?

I feel this often and just think its because of all the Water. I never considered uti I don't experience pain just feels like I have to pee again. I will be more cautious next time.

I would suggest wait it out see if it persist and if it does see your dr.

With a UTI, you often have burning or pain with urination. You usually feel like you constantly have to go to the bathroom. Your urine may have a soul smell or be blood tinged or have mucus in it. I would go in and get checked as a UTI can easily turn into a kidney infection. There is an over the counter med that will help with the discomfort but since you sound symptomatic you also need antibiotics. UTI's can happen after a catheter but usually you see them within a week. You can get a UTI from not wiping properly front to back. You should also urinate before and after having intercourse so bacteria doesn't get up there and cause infection.

I would call your primary doctor and see if you can at least bring a urine specimen in. Drink TONS of Water and some people swear by cranberry juice.

After my rny I had several uti. Your body is getting rid of keystones like crazy right now and I think that is what caused mine. Get to the doc. My obgyn started me on a daily dose of macrobid to help get rid of them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
