I have my first consult tomorrow. My insurance requires I have BMI above 30 and at least one co-morbidity. The BMI requirement I meet hands down, but I don't have high blood pressure,diabetes,high cholesterol or any of the other co-morbidities. My only hope is that my sleep apnea study shows that I have sleep apnea.

So please keep your fingers crossed that I stop breathing a couple of times in my sleep during the study

Ha! I've never wished anyone to stop breathing before, except maybe an ex-boyfriend. Here's hoping though! Good luck to you. I hope you're able to get it covered. I went through the same thing 5 years ago and insurance turned me down. Fast forward 5 years later I lost and regained 30 to 40 pounds plus got me some diabetes along the way. My insurance approved me insanely fast and I had the surgery a week ago today. I hope your outcome is much more expedient.

How about temporarily stopping breathing? long term would be bad.
