My surgery weight was 216 too !!! I am 163 right now, April 9 is my 1 year anniversary. I would like to get down to 150 where I am comfortable at which is a size 8-10 for me. I'm 5'4 1/2". Only 13 more lbs. to go.

We all have them... last summer I stalled in August, Sept, Oct. and started losing again in Nove. I did not gain but I just simply stalled. I did change up my exercise , I started jogging instead of walking and work out 1 hr. instead of 45 minutes. That got me out of my stall.

It cold just be Water retention, if you are doing exactly what your suregon instructed you to do then you will lose. I have seen sooooo many people say they have stalled then after a week will drop 8-9-10 lbs. You will be fine ... and begin to lose again.. we all do - I promise :)

What happens if you keep losig weight beyond your goal. Does the Dr have you do something to slow the weight loss down?

You slowly increase your caloric intake until you find the right balance and stop losing.

I feel ya Marla. I am almost 8 weeks and I've been at same weight for nearly a week. I am at 202. I just want to get under 200. Eventually I want to get to 150. I started at 244. I was 237 dos. I am glad for the loss but just want to see the scale move.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
