My physician told me to get a chewable multivitamin' date=' Vitamin D with Calcium, and a Vitamin B-12. Do the other Vitamins ( D, calcium, and B-12) need to be chewable. Also what about the other medications I take, do the need to be crushed? Or can I just swallow them, they aren't that big.[/quote']

For the first few weeks to months chewable is easiest, but you can also crush up your pills.

As for B12 you must get either the nasal spray, sublingual, or the shot. You can not absorb b12 through the digestive tract anymore.

Some of my medication my stomach just couldn't handle it and it would make me vomit instantly. 1/4 of my ambien made me start talking, dancing and doing stuff in my sleep that u couldn't remember. I had I take liquid antibiotics first few months for kidney infection and pills were way too large.

Oh Em Gee... This is good to know because I take ambien.

What I dont under stand is... Are we suppose to crush he pill and dump the pill dust in our mouth and wash it down with a "sip" of Water?

I take ambien and had no issues. It did hit me faster than before.

As for the crushing of pills - yes for the first few weeks you will need to crush them and drink with Water. When you start on more solid food you can typically handle small pills.

My surgeon suggest that for the first two months you crush your pills and put them in some sf apple sauce. The pills can block your pouch and since they won't be in your stomach for too long they may not get absorbed properly if not crushed. I suggest you ask about the ambien dosage because its supposed to be slow release, it may be hitting you too fast when crushed. You probably need a lower dosage to get you to sleep but may need to take more during the night if you can't stay asleep. I have the same issue!

My dr said all Vitamins should be chewable. For at least the first month after surgery, all other needs need to be either crushed or liquid. After that I can take the pills.

Oh wow! I take ambien as well and if I get up out of the bed, I feel as if I'm a giant and walking on clouds. That's the best way I can explain it.

You might be taking the ambien CR and that gave me bad side effects. I became very sexually aggressive. Poor hubby did not know what to do. Problem is I would not remember much of it. Now that I am on regular ambien I do not have that issue.

FYI I've been taking extra strength Tylenol tablets since 4-5 days post-op without issue. I also take ambien as needed and don't have to crush it. Talk to your doc, they may be fine with you taking pills as long as they aren't huge. Also many meds can't be crushed safely, ask your doc or pharmacist first just to be safe!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
